The Story
The Rose Initiative is a movement of young people unifying their voices to “reclaim our sacred existence” by communicating the hopeful message of the Gospel in response to abortion in America. We believe that the devaluing of human life has caused devastation that can only be restored by the healing message of Jesus Christ and a spiritual awakening in America. The aim of the Initiative is to see the Gospel of Jesus transform lives and see abortion abolished in this generation.
Rose began when a team of student leaders at Liberty University unified their campus to be a voice for the unborn in 2009 with the theme of “Reclaiming Our Sacred Existence.” Their goal was to unite the student voice of the world’s largest Christian university to confront the most misunderstood social injustice of their day. The movement was launched with the first Rose Pro-Life Conference which attracted a compilation of pro-life leaders ranging from U.S. Congressmen, clergy, lawyers, past abortion clinic workers, and the former “Jane Roe” of Roe v. Wade. As a result of the conference, over 8,000 students unified in their voice of solidarity with the unborn victims in America for what became the largest pro-life conference ever to take place on a college campus. Following the success of their efforts, the movement to inspire the youth of a nation to reclaim the sacredness of life is now being taken across America.
